We're delighted to announce that, as from Saturday 1 April 2023, we've been directly commissioned by local authorities of Middlesbrough, Redcar & Cleveland and Hartlepool.
Since July 2016 we have been working with Sexual Health Teesside, supporting patient pathways into testing and treatment for HIV and STIs (sexually transmitted infections).
We continue to provide HIV and sexual health information, advice and guidance. We support communities with their sexual health needs including our free and confidential rapid point-of-care testing service for HIV, hepatitis C and syphilis.
Our service on Teesside has continued to grow and develop; we have responded to the needs of our service users and communities and to date we have offered and delivered point-of-care testing to over 3,500 Teesside residents over last seven years.
There is a lot of progress to celebrate in the fight against HIV and our missions to support people living with and at risk for HIV and ensure everyone can access the sexual health support they need. However, there is still a lot to do, not least on our shared goal to end new HIV transmissions by 2030.
We look forward to continuing our prevention work with our commissioners and we offer a huge thanks to them for making our work possible.
