Thank you so much for Standing Up and Standing Out this World AIDS Day!
From street collections to fashion shows, bake sales to red parties, with nightclubs, pubs, shops and stalls all lending their support, you came out in droves to support and stand up for people living with HIV in the UK.
We are still tallying up the total amount raised but wanted to say a massive thank you and congratulations to everyone who has raised money, staged events, bought ribbons and talked to people about HIV over the last few weeks. We are delighted to have so many of you standing up against stigma all over the country.
The money raised on World AIDS Day goes towards supporting our core services, which provide advice, counselling, testing and health promotion to some of the most vulnerable people in society. Just as crucially, the awareness you have helped to raise will change attitudes and challenge prejudice towards people living with HIV.
If you haven’t already sent in your fundraising totals, find out how to do so.
We’d also love to see some photos of you Standing Up and Standing Out. Upload yours to our Flickr group and show the world how proud you are to be supporting people living with HIV.
World AIDS Day 2012 has been a brilliant success because of all of your hard work. However, Terrence Higgins Trust needs your support all year around. If you are interested in holding an event, running a race, throwing yourself out of a plane or anything else that springs to mind for Terrence Higgins Trust then please check out our DIY fundraising pages.
Thank you once again for Standing Up and Standing Out this World AIDS Day!
