We're inviting community groups to take on the 2030 Challenge and raise £2,030 to help end new HIV cases in the UK by 2030. Whatever your group can raise will make a difference.

We're at a pivotal moment in the fight against HIV. For the first time, ending new HIV cases in the UK by 2030 is within reach.

But it won't happen by chance. We need to keep expanding access to testing, tackling stigma, supporting people living with HIV and holding decision-makers to account.

Together, we can help make this historic goal a reality.

We're asking groups like yours to help make our goal of ending new HIV cases by 2030 a reality. 

Take on the 2030 Challenge and raise £2,030, or whatever your group can achieve, to support our work.

£2,030 could contribute towards:

• 81,200 condoms distributed through our outreach programmes
• 190 free HIV self-testing kits for first-time testers and people at higher risk
• 150 Positive Voices talks challenging HIV stigma in schools, hospitals, workplaces and community groups
• 40 people receiving ten face-to-face counselling sessions
• 20 volunteers trained to support callers through THT Direct
• 15 emergency hardship grants for people living with HIV
• Two years of support for My Community Forum, our peer support network
• One national campaign helping ensure every MP understands what's needed to achieve the 2030 goal

Fundraising is even better when you do it together. Whether you're part of a choir, sports club, workplace team, faith group or university society, there are lots of ways to get involved.

Forty four years ago, Terry Higgins collapsed while DJing at Heaven nightclub in London. At St Thomas’ Hospital on 4 July 1982, he became the first person to be named as dying with an AIDS-related illness.

His partner and friends wanted to ensure that no one else suffered like Terry, and wanted to personalise the response to this little-known virus. As a result, Terrence Higgins Trust was born.

We’re still fighting, 44 years on, for the rights of people living with and affected by HIV.

Today, our helpline THT Direct, originally set up in 2001, is still a vital lifeline for people urgently in need of help and advice.

Our counselling and support services help people come to terms with their diagnosis and understand that now with the advent of effective treatment, they can expect to live a long, healthy life, unable to pass on the virus.

We work to fight HIV stigma across society and to educate people on the facts about HIV and how to achieve good sexual health – misinformation is often the root cause of stigma.
