Full Prize Draw Terms and Conditions: 

Text

1. By entering the prize draw and thus participating, acceptance of these rules is implied and it will be assumed entrants have read and understood all terms and conditions.

2. Terrence Higgins Trust is responsible for running the prize draw and is responsible for providing the prizes. Terrence Higgins Trust’s registered address is: 437 & 439 Caledonian Road, London, N7 9BG.

Eligibility to enter 

3. The prize draw is free to enter

4. This promotion is open to UK residents.

5. Participants in this draw must be 18 or over.

6. A maximum of one entry per individual is permitted. This can be one paper entry or one online entry only.

7. There is no obligation to enclose a donation to Terrence Higgins Trust to be eligible to win in the Birthday Prize Draw.

8. All recipients, in their name only, are eligible to win, except employees of Terrence Higgins Trust and their families, agencies or other companies having any connection with the production of the draw.

9. There is a maximum of one entry per person. Only one prize can be won per person.

Promotion Period

10. The promotion will run from 00.00AM on 4 June 2025 to 11:59PM on 28 July 2025.

11. All entries received before 11.59PM on 14 July 2025 will also be entered into the Birthday Fast Reply Bonus Draw.

12. Any entries received outside of the Promotional Period will not be accepted.

How to enter 

13. Entry into the Birthday Prize Draw and/or the Birthday Fast Reply Bonus Draw can be either by paper entry form or via an online entry form found at: https://www.tht.org.uk/about-us/what-we-do/our-campaigns/do-it-terry/bi…

14. Existing supporters who have opted in to receiving post shall receive a paper entry form in the post.

15. Any supporters (including existing supporters) can enter via the online entry form.

16. To enter, complete and return the paper entry form using the freepost return envelope or complete the online entry form with your name, address and email address during the Promotional Period.

The Prize 

17. The Birthday Prize Draw prizes consist of the following:

  1. The First Prize is 1 x £1000 cash.
  2. The Second Prize is 1 x £250 cash.
  3. There are three Third Prizes of £80 cash.

18. The Birthday Fast Reply Bonus Draw prizes are as follows:

  1. There are 12 x £25 cash prizes paid via BACS.

19. There is a total of 17 prizes available to be won.

20. The prize(s) are non-exchangeable and non-transferrable

21. Cash prize payments will be made by BACS transfer.

22. The winner must provide valid (not expired) photo ID before the prize is awarded.

23. We reserve the right to substitute prizes with another prize of equal or higher value if circumstances beyond our control make it necessary to do so.

24. The decision of Terrence Higgins Trust about any aspect of the prize draw is final and biding, and no correspondence will be entered into about it.

The Winner Selection

25. The Birthday Prize Draw winners will be selected at random, from all valid entries, by a randomised computer process on 1 August 2025.

26. The Birthday Fast Reply Bonus Draw winners will be selected at random, from all valid entries received before 11:59pm on 1 August 2025, by a randomised computer process on 1 August 2025, following the Birthday Prize Draw.

The Winner Announcement

27. The winners will be notified after the draw by 8 August 2025 via email to the email address provided on the entry form.

28. Terrence Higgins Trust will attempt to contact the winner twice by email.

29. Winners will be requested provide clear prize acceptance and proof of government-issued photo ID clearly showing the winner’s date of birth via return email within 14 days of initial notification. County of residence will also be requested from the First and Second prize winners for the purpose of the winners list.

30. If the winner does not respond within 14 days of the first email notification, they will lose the right to the prize, and Terrence Higgins Trust reserves the right to choose and notify another winner using the same methodology as above, who will have 14 days to claim the prize. This process will repeat twice, at which point any unclaimed prizes will be declared null and void.

Prize Fulfilment

31. Within 7 days of valid prize claim and the completion of the verification process, the Promoter will request the winners BACS details via a secure password protected email sent to the email address provided on entry.

32. Cash prizes will be paid by BACS transfer to the account details provided using the above method within 28 days of BACS details being provided. If not, the prize cannot be awarded.

33. Terrence Higgins Trust will request the right to publish the name(s) of winner(s) in an abbreviated form of initial and surname i.e. D Smith, city, town, or county location i.e. Brighton, your winning entry number, and a photograph (if provided), on our website, and in any future mailings or promotional materials. This is not mandatory and must be agreed upon with the winner(s).

Governance

34. Insofar as is permitted by law, Terrence Higgins Trust, its agents or distributors will not in any circumstances be responsible or liable to compensate the winner or accept any liability for any loss, damage, personal injury or death occurring as a result of taking up the prize except where it is caused by the negligence of Terrence Higgins Trust, its agents or distributors or that of their employees. Your statutory rights are not affected.

General

35. Entries (bulk or otherwise) made from trade, syndicates, consumer groups or third parties will not be accepted. If it becomes apparent that a participant is reposting the same content multiple times or using a computer(s) to circumvent this or any other condition by, for example, the use of ‘script’, ‘brute force’ or any other automated means, that person’s entries will be disqualified and any prize award will be void.

36. Incomplete, illegible, invalid or misdirected entries/claims will not be accepted. Proof of sending will not be accepted as proof of delivery. The Promoter takes no responsibility for entries/ claims delayed, incomplete or lost due to technical reasons or otherwise.

37. The Promoter will make available a list of First and Second prize winners’ surnames and counties of residence to members of the public or regulators who request such details within 3 months of the closing date of this promotion. Entrants can object to disclosure, or request that disclosure be limited in scope by contacting [email protected]. We may nevertheless disclose the information to the Advertising Standards Authority if required to do so. You may request a copy of the winners list by emailing [email protected]. The Promoter reserves the right to refuse such requests.

38. The Promoter reserves the right to verify all entries including but not limited to asking for proof of ID including date of birth (passport, driving licence or equivalent form of identification that clearly states the entrant’s date of birth). The Promoter reserves the right to refuse to award a prize or withdraw prize entitlement and/or refuse further participation in the promotion and disqualify the participant where there are reasonable grounds to believe there has been a breach of these terms and conditions, the spirit of the promotion, any instructions forming part of this promotion’s entry requirements or otherwise where a participant has gained unfair advantage in participating or won using fraudulent means.

39. It is the responsibility of the entrant to provide correct, up-to-date details when entering the promotionThe Promoter cannot be held responsible for winners failing to supply accurate information which affects prize acceptance or delivery of their prize.

40. If for any reason any aspect of this promotion is not capable of running as planned, including by reason of infection by computer virus, network failure, traffic congestion, bugs, tampering, unauthorised intervention, fraud, technical failures or any other cause beyond the control of the Promoter which corrupts or affects the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this promotion, the Promoter may in its sole discretion cancel, modify or suspend the promotion or invalidate any affected entries.

41. If any act, omission, event or circumstance occurs which is beyond the reasonable control of the Promoter and which prevents the Promoter from complying with these terms and conditions (including but not limited to global or regional health crises, weather conditions, fire, flood, strike, hurricane, industrial dispute, war, terrorist activity, hostilities, political unrest, riots, civil commotion, epidemic, pandemic, famine, plague or other natural calamities and acts of God), the Promoter will not be liable for any failure to perform or delay in performing its obligations but will always endeavour to minimise the effect to participants in order to avoid undue disappointment.

42. The Promoter has no control over internet or communication networks and is not liable for any problems associated with them due to traffic congestion, technical malfunction or otherwise. The Promoter will not be held liable to any individual for any fraud committed by any third party nor for any event beyond its control including, but not limited to, user error and any network, computer, hardware or software failures of any kind which may restrict, delay or prevent a participant’s entry to the promotion.

43. If any of these clauses should be determined to be illegal, invalid or otherwise unenforceable then it shall be severed and deleted from these terms and conditions and the remaining clauses shall survive and remain in full force and effect.

Governing Law

44. These Terms and Conditions (and any non-contractual issues which arise out of or in connection with them) are governed by the laws of England and Wales and are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales unless you live in another part of the United Kingdom in which case your local laws and courts will have jurisdiction. Terrence Higgins Trust reserves the right to update these Terms and Conditions from time to time and any updated version will be effective as soon as it is published on the website.

Data Protection

45. The Promoter will only use the personal details supplied for the administration of the promotion and for no other purpose, unless we have your consent. Click here for the Promoter’s Privacy Policy.  Your personal details will at all times be kept confidential and in accordance with current Data Protection legislation. Data will be stored for three months after the close of the promotion before deletion. You can request access to your personal data, or have any inaccuracies rectified, by sending an email to [email protected]. By participating in the promotion, you agree to the use of your personal data as described here.

How to enter

1.    There are two free routes of entry: a paper form or an online entry form.
2.    Paper forms must be returned in the envelope provided with the form to: Freepost Plus RUEE–EZZJ–SZKK, Terrence Higgins Trust, 439 Caledonian Road, LONDON N7 9BG
3.    Only one entry per individual regardless of entry method.
4.    All entries are received by 11:59pm on 28th July 2025. 
5.    Entries received after this time will not be entered into the draw. 
6.    You must be 18 or over to play. 

Draw Date

7.    The draw will take place on 1st August 2025.

Prizes

8.    First Prize is £1,000 cash. 
9.    Second Prize is £250 cash. 
10.    Three Third Prizes of £80 cash.

Winners

12.    Winners will be notified by email if they have won a prize on by 8th August 2025.
13.    Winners have 14 days to claim their prize, otherwise they lose the right to claim the prize.
14.    If the prize is not claimed, as second winner shall be selected, and will have 14 days to claim their prize.
