You don’t need to reinvent the wheel when it comes to raising money – just add a charity element to one of your regular event nights!

Plan something new

There are lots of fun and easy ways to fundraise while filling your venue and tills.

Launch or finale party: The X Factor, Strictly Come Dancing or the latest series of RuPaul's Drag Race is a perfect opportunity to gather your customers for party while raising money to support people living with HIV.

Big gay brunch: Drag queen host, great food and unlimited drinks, it’s a recipe for a fun few hours!

Quiz or bingo night: Hold a quiz or bingo event. If your venue has screens, speakers and a PRS licence (so you have a licence to play music – most pubs will have one) then we suggest going for the display version of the quiz.

If you feel like doing something a bit different for your quiz or bingo night, ask your teams to take part in fancy dress! Set a theme or leave it open. There could be an extra prize for the best costumes. Ask everyone to ‘pay to play’ either in advance or on the door.

Sing-a-long or classic LGBT+ movie night: There are so many classic movies to choose from. Picking one will be the hardest part!

Music night: Choose from cabarets, open mic nights, battle of the bands, tribute nights and more. A music event is a brilliant way of showcasing your customers' diverse talents.

Summer BBQ or sports day: Get outdoors and make the most of our summer.

Afternoon tea: Not everyone wants a pint of mild. Tea and cakes could bring new customers to your pub.

Annual events

LGBT History Month, Eurovision, Pride and World AIDS Day on 1 December are some of the key times of the year when you and your customers may like to fundraise to support our work. Keep these in mind when planning the date for your event!

Ways to fundraise

Text

QR code: Display a QR code on the tables and on posters around your venue. You customers will be able to donate in seconds! We can provide you with a code and help you create unique posters for your venue.

Text to donate: Inviting your customers to text a donation is a quick and easy way to support out work. Get in touch and we can send you a unique code for your venue.

Hold a raffle: An easy way to boost your fundraising total at your event is to organise a raffle and sell tickets at each table. There are some rules around raffles so please get in touch and we can help you.

Priority seating: Ask your guests to make a donation when reserving priority seating for the next show or screening. Or charge for service to their table.

JustGiving page: Set up a JustGiving page to collect donations. Having an online giving page means that anyone who can’t attend your event can donate anyway (plus these donations are eligible for Gift Aid).
