Sexual Health Testing

We recommend getting tested for sexually transmitted infections every 3-6 months for people who are sexually active, especially those who have had sex with multiple people since their last test.

There are over a dozen NHS sexual health centres across Lanarkshire which offer comprehensive sexual health support and testing. These services may offer BBV & STI testing, long-acting contraception, PrEP, or opportunities to discuss  any sexual difficulties you may have. You can book an appointment online here or call 0300 303 0251.

STI self-sampling is now being made available across Scotland and is currently available in Lanarkshire for Chlamydia and Gonorrhoea testing. You can order a self-sampling kit through NHS Inform, which will be mailed to you in discreet packaging. Follow the instructions in the box and return your samples as directed to get results without having to make an appointment.

Condoms

We offer regular deliveries of free condoms by post to gay, bi and other men who have sex with men in Lanarkshire through our Get Rubbered service.

Lanarkshire sexual health services also offer a free Condoms by Post service whereby anybody with a Lanarkshire address may order condoms to be delivered to their home address.

Young people in Lanarkshire can also access free condoms through Lanarkshire’s C-Card scheme. There are over 100 C-Card Centres in Lanarkshire where young people can collect packets of condoms free of charge, with a variety of sizes, flavours, and materials. You can find out more about the C-Card scheme.
